AIRLINE WELCOME & CABIN CREW

WHAT IS THE AIRLINE WELCOME & CABIN CREW COURSE ABOUT?

A short course in preparation for those seeking employment as Air Cabin Crew, or for those generally interested in airline services. Successful completion of this course results in a guaranteed job interview within the industry, e.g. Thomas Cook and BMI.

WHY SHOULD I STUDY THE COURSE?

A short, nationally recognised course that can lead to the start of a new and exciting lifestyle and career.

USEFUL SKILLS & INTERESTS

This course is suitable for all students but especially for those who think they may like to work in the airline, or the travel and tourism industry or other service industry. The qualification focuses on the student’s ability to deliver excellent customer service throughout different practical situations. Good organisational and teamwork skills are essential.

COURSE STRUCTURE & CONTENT

The programme includes:

  • How airlines form a vital component of the travel and tourism industry
  • How to provide a comprehensive and inclusive customer experience for the passenger
  • Effective communication and creating a positive impression with passengers
  • How to solve passenger problems and leave passengers with a good lasting impression
  • The importance of Product Knowledge in the airline industry

COURSE COSTS

Students will visit a local airport for practical and team exercises. The cost of this is £20 - £30.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

There is a one day, 8 hour external assessment day that is conducted in a realistic `mock up' cabin, together with a portfolio of work.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

Good basic literacy and numeracy skills are required, together with good time management, organisational skills and a willingness to participate in all activities.

PROGRESSION ROUTES

Courses will be available in Principles of First Aid, Foreign Languages or Travel & Tourism
