A day in the labs at Teesside University

Our Level 2 and Level 3 BTEC Sport and A level PE students spent Wednesday 21 October at Teesside University for a sport, exercise and rehabilitation day.

The first session was in the physiology lab, where students looked at the effects of exercising in a heat chamber. In the rehab lab, they practised strapping each other’s ankles and wrists and were shown how to use kinesiology tape. Lecturers then talked them through the two sport courses the university offers.

After lunch in the students’ union, the afternoon focused on information processing. Students had their reaction times tested, with some impressive results, and the lecturer explained how decision making and timing work in sport.
