Skills for Employment students plan beach clean boards from Redcar to Whitby

Our Skills for Employment 1 students have started to finalise their project for the year. As part of their employability skills qualification, they are working together to develop a network of two-minute beach clean boards that will run along the coast from Redcar to Whitby.

To get the project under way, the group visited the RNLI lifeboat station in Redcar, where the boat warden talked to them about working safely along our coastline. They also had a look at the lifeboat and the station’s history.

The students then got stuck in with a beach clean of their own on the sands around the Beacon, collecting litter and finding the odd fossil along the way.
